jk-co is a Denver based dance company looking to establish a new way of making work and sharing performances based upon the values of equity, artistry, and community. We bring together Denver artists and audience members to create a hub and build a stronger and more connected foundation.

Kimberly
Chmielewski

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Kimberly Chmielewski is a working professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher in Denver, CO. For nearly a decade, Ms. Chmielewski has been cultivating and enriching her artistic voice through multi-disciplinary performances, choreographic creations, and an elevated teaching curriculum. Kimberly received her BFA and Honors in Dance for The University of Iowa and has worked with Hannah Kahn, Robert Sher-Machherndl, Michael Medcalf, and in works by José Limón, George Balanchine, Alejandro Cerrudo, Alonzo King, Julie Bour, and Lawrence Pech to name a few.

Josh
Dwyre

Denver, CO native, Joshua Dwyre received his BFA in Dance from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College where he performed works by Doug Varone, George Balanchine, Loni Landon, MADBoots Dance, Kyle Abraham, Kevin Wynn, and other artists. Dwyre has been teaching, performing, and creating since returning home in 2016.

Jenny
Gram

Jenny Gram is a performer, dance-maker, and founder of Movenet. She has performed with such artists as Jennifer Archibald, The Moving Architects, Racoco Productions, Larry Keigwin for musical artist Kimbra in New York City, Shen Wei Dance Arts at the North Carolina Museum of Art during the American Dance Festival, and Jon Lehrer Dance for a tour in Germany, Luxembourg, and Austria.

Since moving to Denver, Jenny has worked with Hannah Kahn Dance Company, New Breed Dance Company, Nu-World Contemporary Danse Theatre, and Moraporvida Contemporary Dance.

In creating movement experiences through visceral storytelling and meaningful interactions, the mission of jk-co is to examine and unearth human truths.  jk-co aims to craft an innovative, inclusive, and accessible dance dialogue that ignites genuine human emotion.

For the 2020/2021 performance season, jk-co is the Artist in Residence at Stanley Marketplace.
